The time and date are presented front and center on your computer’s screen when the TimeSaver screensaver kicks in. So if you want to know what time it is by simply taking a glance at the monitor, go ahead and get TimeSaver. It is a free application, mind you.

The TimeSaver installer is a lightweight MSI file, as it is less than 1MB in size. Download the MSI installer, run it, click through the instructions presented by the setup wizard, and moments later you will be done with the installation process. To activate the screensaver, you need to access the Screen Saver Settings window. On Windows 7 you can do this by right clicking on the desktop -> Personalize -> Screen Saver.

You can set it so the time and date stay front and center on the screen when the screensaver launches. If you don’t like this static behavior, you can pick one of several motion options: bounce off walls, pan horizontally, loop around, random moves. You can also set the speed level for the motion you select.
There’s another handy customization option that deserves mentioning: you can change the font TimeSaver uses to display the time and the date.
